600ml lukewarm water
1 tbls salt
1 tbls oil
½ packet yeast
~1 kg plain flour

For brushing: 1 beaten egg

Dissolve the yeast into the water and mix in the oil and salt.
Add the flour and knead into a dough. The dough may become dry enough, so hold back a small amount of flour add only if the dough is too sticky

Let the dough raise for at least 1 hour.

When the dough is raised, without letting it collapse, divide into 6 equal parts and roll into sausages using as little extra flour as possible.

Put the baguettes on a baking tray and let raise for another 30 mins, and then brush with the egg wash and bake at 225°C for around 17 mins, depending on the oven.
