A farm wedding an hour from Copenhagen
Open fields, an old Danish farmhouse, tall trees and food cooked from what grows right here. The whole place is yours for the day, and there is time to celebrate properly with the people you love.
Say your vows under the open sky, sit down to dinner in the restaurant and let the party run as late as you like.
Stevns is not just the scenery on the way to Dambækgaard. It is part of the day.
Fields, open country and the particular quiet that comes with being a little way out of the city – at Dambækgaard it all becomes part of your wedding.
Say yes with the fields around you, walk with your photographer under the old trees, and let your guests wander between the courtyard, the garden and the corners of the farm.
And although you are deep in the Stevns countryside, Copenhagen is only about an hour away.
When you marry at Dambækgaard, the farm is yours alone.
So the day can move at its own pace. Guests arrive, you raise a glass together, the ceremony takes place, dinner is served, and later the party takes over.
No other parties next door. No other guests to consider. Just your people, the farm and the day you brought them here for.
There is room for someone to linger over dinner, for the children to find their own adventures, and for a few guests to step outside between courses.
There is something special about being married outdoors.
The arch stands in the field. Your guests are gathered. The corn moves in the wind and the countryside stretches out around you.
Once you have said yes, you walk back to the farm, where the champagne is waiting.
While your guests toast and talk, you can slip away with the photographer. The drive lined with tall trees, the courtyard, the garden and the fields give you plenty of places to go.
If you have already married in church, your wedding day at Dambækgaard begins the moment you arrive to your guests.
Food is a big part of what Dambækgaard is.
Kirstine cooks everything from scratch and starts with whatever is in season.
Some of it grows in the farm’s own fields. The rest comes from producers nearby. Together it becomes a menu where the time of year has a real say in how things taste.
You plan it with Kirstine, so there is no set wedding menu that everyone gets. A wedding in May simply does not taste like a wedding in September.
Which is exactly as it should be.
The speeches are done. The coffee is drunk, and the music gets a little louder.
Some dance. Some stay at the table with a glass. Some step outside for a moment.
And when appetites return, the midnight snack arrives.
That is the backbone of the day. The rest we plan together.
A wedding does not have to end when the party does.
Your closest family and friends can stay the night at Dambækgaard, and the next morning you meet again around the breakfast table.
The farm’s own bread. Fresh eggs. Homemade jam. A slow morning after a long day.
And perhaps the stories from the last part of the party that you do not quite remember yourselves.
It is hard to know whether a place is right for you until you have stood in it. So the first step is not a booking – it is a visit.
Come and see Dambækgaard. Walk around the farm, see the restaurant, the field and the rooms, and tell us about the day you are picturing. Nothing needs to be planned yet. If you are abroad, we are just as happy to start with a video call.
