How early can we arrive?

Earliest possible arrival is from 15.00. Departure has to be before 11.00 on departure day.

We would really like to spend more time at the farm, so could we arrive earlier?

We do understand the urge to get the most out of your stay. But since we are a working farm, who always have a lot of different projects going on, we need some dedicated time to take care of the famr between 11.00 and 15.00. So early arrival is unfortunately not an option.

Is the farm accessable with public transportation?

The farm is located 1,8 km from Hårlev station, so a 20 minute walk should bring you here. Direct trains to Køge drives every half hour on week days, and the travel time for Hårlev to Copenhagen Central is just less than 1 hour.

I have fallen ill and unfortunately have to cancel can I get a refund

Sudden illness can strike all of us and it’s really unfortunate, when it happens. Our cancellation policy out side school holidays are as follows: cancellation is free until two weeks before your arrival and in school holidays until two months before your arrival. After arrival there is no refund, even if you have to make an early departure. We would of course like to be able to be more flexible, but we are a small family driven company who are trying our best to keep things running. If illness suddenly strikes we encourage our guests to use their private travel insurance.

How does dinner work and is it adaptable to small children?

We are designed for travelling with small children, so of course we take the young ones into consideration. In regards to the daily menu Kirstine always asks if there are any special considerations she should take. During school holidays where we offer farm stays dinner is always served around 17.30. Out side school holidays dinner time is arranged individually depending on your wishes.

We would like to eat out during our stay is that possible?

All our guests mention the food as a real asset when staying with us. And we really wish for you to experience why. But of course we understand if you want to experience other kitchens as well. Farm stays exceeding three days are able to choose to have dinner elsewhere once or twice. We just need to know one day in advance and then we will of course deduct the dinner from the final bill.

Can we buy lunch at the farm?

During school holidays we offer a lunch box solution. At the end of breakfast, we set up the buffet for you to make your own lunch box to either put in the fridge for eating lunch at the farm or to bring for a picnic if you decide to go on an excursion. Lunch is always homemade rye bread supplemented with different produce from the farm. E.g. homemade liver pâté, meat balls, egg salade, vegetables, sausage rolls etc.

Do you also cook vegetarian, vegan and for people with allergies?

Of course we take vegetarianism and allergies into consideration. Just make sure to add the relevant allergies as a comment to your booking. And please include information about how many of your guests are allergic or vegetarians.

For gluten allergies we charge a small additional amount as is requires more work and extra expenses for us to cook gluten free.

as all of our menus are made from day to day, serving the same for all our guests and mostly based on our own produce, we are unfortunately not able to cater for vegans during high season. Of season you are very welcome to contact us about the options.

What's the earliest breakfast option?

Of season breakfast time is agreed individually with our guests, but it is usually available between 7.30-9.30. During school holidays Kirstine is always in the kitchen making the bread and preparing from 6.45, so if there is need for an emergency yoghurt or bowl of oats feel free to knock on the door to the kitchen

Can I bring my own drinks?

You are very welcome to drink your own drinks in your room or at the private terrace in front of your room. In all the common areas your own drinks are not allowed. This includes the outdoor areas as well as the dining room. Here it is possible to bye wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee and tea.

Is your dog Balder dangerous?

No! He loves people and has a lot of patience with children. If he gets attention overload he retreats and we kindly ask parents to make sure their children respect when he walks away for a bit of solitude. At the same time his primary job is also to keep watch so he will bark when you arrive, which may sound a bit loud and frightening, if you’re not used to dogs. But it is simply his way of telling us, guests hasvearrived. He is basically a door bell with four legs.

How many animals have you got and can we get close to them?

We have chickens, goats, pigs, geese, ducks, cats and the dog. Jan feeds every afternoon just before dinner and it is always possible to join the tour. Balder loves to petted, and there is a path where you are always welcome to go and say hello to the goats and the birds, some are behind fence and some run free. The pigs are free range, but there are a lot of restrictions on farm production for us to be obeyed. So unfortunately you are only allowed to watch not enter. The cats are farm cats, not house cats, so you will not be able to get close to them as they live in the barn where guests aren’t allowed and they are very shy.

Can I bring my dog?

We’re sorry to discriminate, but the only dogs we allow are medium to big sized female dogs of and for the sake of Balder they are not allowed to be in heat. But if your dog meets the criteria it is welcome to join you free of charge, unless you let it stay in the furniture. In that case we charge a cleaning fee of 500,- DKK

Are we allowed to have visitors for the day during our stay?

You are very welcome to invite family or friends to join you for dinner or a cup of coffee. We charge a fee of 50,- DKK pr visitor besides the charge for any additional purchase during their stay. If you have guests visiting please let us as soon as possible and no later than the day before their arrival.

My child is between six months and two years, do I still have to pay for them?

Yes. Our prices are not just based on the consumption of food, but also how much time we spend cleaning, tidying and cooking etc. From our own experience as parents of three, small children may not eat very much, but they require more cleaning and tidying then average.

Is there any kitchen access?

Unfortunately we can’t offer our guests access to the kitchen. It is a professional kitchen and we kindly ask you not to enter. The food experience is a vital part of our ambition with the farm and we’ve made it a priority that our guests should not have to worry about cooking during their stay, There is a fridge available for guests, in case you have things that need cooling.

We're travelling with very young children who still needs a bottle how are we supposed to boil their bottles if we don't have access to a kitchen?

Kirstine will be happy to help boiling bottles and washing baby cutlery. If you’ll just bring the bottles for either breakfast or dinner, she will make sure they are ready when you’ve finished your meal.

Is it possible to buy a scoop of ice cream or a cup of coffee outside meal times?

Absolutely! Kirstine makes all the ice cream herself and will be happy to make a scoop or two during the day, just as we sell various drinks during the day. Cake for the coffee can also be arranged on request.

Are there televisions in the rooms?

No. There are projects in the dining room, and occasionally, for example at the European Championships in 2024, we show a national match or a film on the big screen. If there are special requests, please ask.

Is there wi-fi?

Yes, there is wi-fi in the two rooms and the dining room, which also covers the terrace. The glamping tents and flat are unfortunately outside wi-fi coverage.
